Darth Maul was a Dark Lord of the Sith that lived for many years after literally being too angry to die. He was known for carrying a double-bladed lightsaber which turned out to not be so special. He fought around the time of the Invasion of Naboo got cut in half, came back to life through the Clone Wars, and died during the early years of the Empire in a duel with his nemesis Obi-Wan Kenobi. He thinks it's unfortunate for you that history will not see it that way.

Maul was "adopted" by Sheev Palpatine when he was a toddler. Palps abused him to bring out Maul's anger. When he came of age, he did jobs as a Sith Assassin, including stopping a criminal con artist in the lower levels of Coruscant and killing a Jedi Padawan.
