Obi-Wan Kenobi saying "Hello there!" in Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

The third release of the Prequel Trilogy, Revenge of the Sith, was released on May 19th, 2005. In the movie, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi is seen greeting the antagonist General Grievous with the iconic quote, "Hello there!" This was a reference to Obi-Wan greeting R2-D2 with the same quote in the first installment of the franchise.

The earliest known meme related to the quote is that of YouTuber Thereisnospoon303 who posted a remix of the scene with the title "OBI-WAN SAYS HELLO WHILE I PLAY UNFITTING MUSIC."
